French Australian Lawyers Society - Bastille Day Evening
The French Australian Lawyers Society held its first Bastille Day Dinner on 18 July 2014 at the French Brasserie in Melbourne. Over 40 guests were welcomed by Marie Wilkening- Le Brun, President of the Society. The event was sponsored by champagne house Devaux Cuvee D. Guests were able to enjoy this wonderful champagne. Marian Clarkin, guest speaker and Barrister, gave an interesting speech about the history of champagne. Natalie Vogel, Barrister and professional singer, spiced up the evening by singing Edith Piaf’s “Non, je ne regrette rien”.

FALS, FACCI & Gadens Lawyers Seminar
On 26 February 2015 the French Australian Lawyers Society (FALS) held its first function for the year at Gadens Lawyers in conjunction with the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FACCI).
Over 50 people attended the Employment seminar which covered topics such as employee entitlements, disputes, termination and restraints of trade across borders. The speakers were David Langmead, list member and Ian Dixon, Partner at Gadens. It was chaired by list member Marie Wilkening-Le Brun.
The seminar was followed by drinks and conversation flowed in French and English. It was an enjoyable and informative evening.

Lunch with the Ambassador and the French Associations Presidents - May 12, 2015 - Current Posts, Diplomatic News
The French ambassador in Australia, His Excellency Mr Christophe Lecourtier, recently came to Melbourne, to talk about the situation of the French Australian education with the Minister of Education in Victoria. On 5 May he met with the Consular advisors and the presidents of several French associations in Victoria, to discuss the issues facing the French community.
