Melbourne French Theatre - Le Théâtre Français de Melbourne

The Melbourne French Theatre (MFT) is a unique Australian theatre company, which presents  plays in French, organises events and serves as an agency for French actors for all multi-media applications.

It was founded in 1977 by Michael Bula, member of FALS, Solicitor and Notary and David Gorrie, under the patronage of His Excellency the French Ambassador to Australia.

Two to four productions are presented each year usually as theatrical plays either entirely in French or in bi-lingual (French/English) form. Occasionally cafés-théâtres and other projects are also presented. The Theatre draws its inspiration for plays from a large repertoire of French playwrights from the Middle Ages to the present.

The Theatre has presented 99 productions so far.  In September 2016, it will proudly present its 100th play.  Amongst its actors are professionals and amateurs alike of French, Australian and other nationalities.

FALS members can benefit from a concession rate of $28 instead of $32 for each MFT's show.
